For homeowners
Is it really free to post a job?
Yes. Posting a job on TradieSA is 100% free for homeowners. No credit card required, no hidden fees, no commission when you hire a tradie. The tradie pays a small credit to send you a quote response — that's how we keep the platform running without charging customers.
How long does it take to get quotes?
Most jobs receive their first quote within a few hours of being posted. Tradies in your service area get notified immediately when a matching job goes live. Emergency jobs (selected via the urgency option) get priority alerts.
What if no tradies respond?
It happens occasionally with very niche jobs or in remote areas. If you haven't received a quote within 48 hours, contact support@tradiesa.com.au — we'll help you reach the right tradies directly or refine your job description.
Do I have to pay anything to TradieSA when I hire a tradie?
No. TradieSA takes no commission on completed work. The price you agree with the tradie is the price they get. Payment is between you and the tradie directly — we don't hold or process job payments.
How do I know a tradie is legitimate?
Every tradie profile shows their verification status: email verified, phone verified, ABN verified, and (for licensed trades) license verified. Tradies also have a Trust Score that grows with verified reviews and completed jobs. Look for tradies with multiple verifications and positive reviews from real customers.
Can I cancel or edit a job after posting?
Yes. Go to your account dashboard, find the job, and you can edit details, mark it as filled, or delete it entirely. If you've already engaged a tradie, please let them know directly out of courtesy.
Are reviews real?
Yes. Reviews can only be left by customers who have actually engaged with a tradie through TradieSA. We don't accept paid reviews and we actively remove fake or coerced reviews. If you suspect a fake review, use the report function and we'll investigate.
For tradies
Is it free to sign up as a tradie?
Yes. Creating your TradieSA profile, listing your services, posting work updates in the community feed, and receiving job alerts are all free. You only spend credits when you actively send a quote response to a customer.
How do credits work?
Credits are how tradies access leads. Each time you send a quote in response to a job, it costs a small number of credits (the exact amount depends on the job category and value). New tradies get free starter credits when they verify their account. Additional credits can be purchased in packs starting from $9.95.
What credit packages are available?
We offer four packs:
- Starter Pack — 10 credits for $9.95
- Standard Pack — 25 credits + 3 bonus for $19.95 (most popular)
- Pro Pack — 60 credits + 10 bonus for $39.95
- Business Pack — 150 credits + 30 bonus for $89.95
Credits don't expire and can be used at any time.
What if a job turns out to be fake or low-quality?
If you spend credits responding to a job that's clearly fake, a duplicate, or violates our terms, contact support@tradiesa.com.au. We'll investigate and refund your credits if warranted. We're committed to lead quality and we take this seriously.
How do I verify my ABN and license?
During tradie onboarding, you'll be asked for your ABN and (if applicable) trade license number. We verify these against public Australian registers. For SA-licensed trades (plumbing, electrical, gas fitting, builders, etc.), license verification is required before your profile can receive job leads.
Can I see who viewed my profile?
You can see anonymous view counts on your posts and profile. We don't reveal specific user identities unless they've interacted with you (liked, commented, messaged, requested a quote). This protects user privacy on both sides.
Do you take a commission on completed jobs?
No. Once you've quoted a job and the customer hires you, the entire payment is yours. TradieSA earns only from credit purchases — we don't take a cut of the work itself.
What's the Trust Score?
Your Trust Score is a number from 0 to 100 reflecting how trustworthy your profile is to customers. It's calculated from: email verification (+10), phone verification (+20), each completed deal (+2, up to +40), and customer ratings (+1 per positive review, up to +30). The higher your score, the more prominent your profile appears in search results.

Why South Australia only?
Because local matters. Tradies in Mount Gambier shouldn't be competing for jobs in Sydney, and Adelaide homeowners shouldn't be getting quotes from Brisbane-based call centres. By focusing only on SA, we keep the platform genuinely local — the way tradie work should be.
Will you expand to other states?
Maybe one day, but only when we've nailed it in SA. For now, our focus is being the best tradie platform in South Australia — not the biggest in Australia.
