Terms of Service

Last updated: 15 May 2026

These terms govern your use of TradieSA. By using the platform, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use TradieSA.

1. About TradieSA

TradieSA is a community platform that connects South Australian homeowners ("customers") with South Australian trade businesses ("tradies"). We facilitate introductions; we do not provide tradie services ourselves, and we are not a party to any agreement made between customers and tradies.

2. Eligibility

To use TradieSA you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Provide accurate, current information
  • Have the legal authority to enter contracts on your own behalf
  • Be located in or providing/seeking services in South Australia

For tradies, you must additionally:

  • Hold a valid Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • Hold all licenses required for your trade in South Australia
  • Maintain valid public liability insurance for the work you offer
  • Comply with all applicable Australian Consumer Law obligations

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must not share your account or impersonate someone else. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

One person = one account. Multiple accounts created to manipulate the platform, evade bans, or commit fraud will be removed.

4. Posting jobs (customers)

When you post a job, you agree:

  • The job is genuine and you intend to engage a tradie if a suitable one responds
  • The information you provide is accurate (location, budget, urgency, scope)
  • You will respond to tradie quotes in a reasonable timeframe
  • You will not post duplicate jobs to manipulate visibility
  • Your job description does not violate any laws, infringe rights, or contain offensive material

5. Tradie obligations

If you're a tradie using TradieSA, you agree:

  • You are properly licensed and insured for every job you accept
  • You will only respond to jobs within your competence and service area
  • You will perform work to a professional standard and consistent with Australian Consumer Law
  • You will honour quotes and timeframes you provide
  • You will not solicit customers to engage with you off-platform to avoid credit fees, until you've agreed on the job
  • You will not post fake reviews or coerce reviews from customers

6. Fees and credits

For customers

Posting jobs and using the platform is free for customers. TradieSA does not take any commission from work completed.

For tradies

Tradies access leads by spending credits. Each credit purchase is final — credits are not refundable except in cases where a job is found to be fraudulent, fake, or violating these terms, in which case credits may be refunded at our discretion.

Credit prices, package sizes, and quote costs may change. We'll notify you of material changes before they take effect.

7. Reviews and ratings

Reviews must be honest, based on actual experience, and free from offensive or defamatory content.

You may not:

  • Post fake reviews (positive or negative)
  • Coerce customers into reviews
  • Pay for reviews
  • Review your own business or a competitor's business unfairly

We may remove reviews that violate these terms.

8. Content you post

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting, you grant TradieSA a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and adapt that content within the platform (and in our promotional materials with attribution).

You must have the right to post the content. Don't post:

  • Copyrighted material you don't own
  • Content that violates someone's privacy or rights
  • Spam, scams, or misleading advertising
  • Hate speech, harassment, or threats
  • Sexually explicit material
  • Anything illegal under Australian law

9. The agreement between customers and tradies

When a customer hires a tradie through TradieSA, the contract is directly between them. TradieSA is not a party to that contract and is not responsible for:

  • The quality, safety, or legality of work performed
  • Disputes over price, scope, or timing
  • Damage to property or injury during the job
  • Whether the tradie shows up, completes the work, or honours warranties

That said, we want both sides to have a good experience. If you're in a serious dispute, contact support@tradiesa.com.au — we may be able to mediate or take action against users who violate these terms.

10. Verification

We verify tradie ABNs and (where applicable) licenses through public Australian registers. While we make reasonable efforts to keep verification accurate, we don't guarantee that every verified tradie maintains valid licenses and insurance throughout. Customers should still confirm credentials before hiring.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these terms
  • Use the platform to commit fraud, harassment, or illegal activity
  • Repeatedly receive serious complaints
  • Provide false ABN or license information
  • Manipulate reviews, jobs, or platform metrics

You can delete your account at any time via your account settings.

12. Disclaimers and limitations

The platform is provided "as is". We make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly suited to your needs.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TradieSA's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) where those rights cannot be excluded.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify TradieSA against any claim, loss, or damage arising from your use of the platform, your breach of these terms, or your interactions with other users.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email and a notice on the platform at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after that means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia. Any disputes will be heard in the courts of South Australia.
